What does "Pay What You Can" photography actually mean?
It means that financial barriers shouldn’t keep you from preserving your life’s most precious milestones. We provide a "True Value" market rate for each photography session, but the final amount you pay is up to you. Whether you contribute the full amount, pay extra to "pay it forward" for another athlete or family, or offer a smaller amount that fits your current budget, you are a deeply valued member of this herd.
Why do you use this model for photography?
Like the buffalo, we believe in protecting the most vulnerable members of our community. High-quality professional photography is often treated as a luxury, which excludes people when they are navigating tight financial seasons or enduring personal storms. By allowing our community to contribute based on individual circumstances, we ensure that every family and athlete gets their legacy documented with dignity.
Is there a minimum amount I have to pay?
There is no set minimum. However, we do gently ask that you consider the specialized gear costs, travel, shooting time, and hours of careful image editing poured into your session. Your contribution—whatever the size—goes directly to the individual photographer or back into sustaining our herd so we can keep serving others.
How do I decide what to pay for my photoshoot?
We suggest looking at the "Suggested Contribution" listed next to each photography package as a baseline starting point. If that feels out of reach, choose an amount that is sustainable for your household. If you are currently in a season of abundance, paying a little extra helps cover the hard costs for a family or young athlete who is enduring a heavy storm.
Will I receive the same quality of photos if I pay less?
Absolutely. The buffalo don't leave a herd member behind based on what they can bring to the table, and neither do we. Every single client receives the exact same high shutter-speed focus, creative storytelling, detailed editing, and professional dedication, regardless of their final payment amount.

In the Brownsburg and Greater Indianapolis area, the average market rate for professional photography services sits anywhere between $150 and $300 per hour. For many athletes, families, and community members navigating tight financial seasons, that is simply not a realistic expense.
Because I view photography as a sacred act of service—and because I am continually honing my craft as a passionate creator—I deliberately price my personal sessions far below the traditional market standard to keep preservation accessible:
